Disabled tanker sailing again after repairs
The "CT Cork", which had been disabled SW of the Azores on Nov 28, 2017, and was taken in tow by the tug "Alp Winger" on Dec 2, left the yard in Yalova, where she had arrived on Dec, 23, on Apr 9, 2018. The ship has been renamed "Derg" since. It arrived at Istanbul at 11 p.m. and sailed on Apr 10 at 12.30 p.m., bound for Gibraltar, where she called on Apr 16 on the further voyage to Yabucoa, ETA Apr 28.
Repair of damaged engine still going on
The "CT Cork" which was disabled SW of the Azores on Nov 28, 2017, and which was taken in tow by the tug "Alp Winger" on Dec 2, was remaining berthed at the Besiktas Shipyard in Altinova, where it had arrived on Dec 23, by March 6. The owners have provided a new set of spare parts for the vessel. Permanent repairs to the engine items were going on.
Disabled tanker towed to Madeira
The "CT Cork" was diabled and adrift in the Atlantic southwest of the Azores on Nov 28, 2017. The tanker was en route from Puerto Rico to Yalova. The tug "Alp Winger" (IMO: 9367504) was contracted to assist and left Ponta Delgada on Nov 29. It reached the tanker on Dec 2 at 7.30 p.m. and initially took it on tow towards Funchal. Since then, the plan has been changed, the ship was now to be towed all the way down to Yalova.
