Heavy collision in South China Sea
The Singapore flagged container m/v 'Wan Hai 288', 20899 gt (IMO: 9871359), en route from Singapore to Hong Kong, was in collision with the 'AMC Navigator', which had just sailed from the Yiu Lean Shekou Dockyards en route to Hong Kong, in the night of Nov 17 in the South China Sea. Both ships were under way, but the 'Wan Hai 288' had a restricted manoeverability due to an oncoming container ship at her port side and couldn’t swing to port as it was required by the circumstances to avoid the collision. She suffered heavy damages at the bow and was towed to the Hong Kong Anchorage by two tugs, where she mooored in pos. 22° 09.67'N 114° 07.10' E on Nov 20. The bulk carrier was seriously damaged too and was slowly adrift in pos. 21° 47.69' N 114° 15.43' E south of the Hong Kong–Macau line as of Nov 20. On Nov 21 it moored on Hong Kong anchorage in pos. 22° 09.94' N 114° 06.57' E. The 'AMC Navigator' berthed at the Yiu Lian Shekou Dockyards Port on Nov 22 at 1 p.m.
Bulkcarrier grounded on Paraná River
The "Great Amity" ran aground at km 322 on the Paraná River on June 25, 2015. The bulkcarrier got stuck off Ramallo, while proceeding downriver from San Lorenzo to Rio Grande. The ship was refloated by the tugs "Tumbadori" and the "Ema B" on June 27 at 1.45 p.m.
