Quadrocopter found no leaks
On Sakhalin, the rescue ship 'Bering Strait' from Korsakov approached the 'KC Hadong'. With the help of a quadrocopter salvors examined the vessel's hull, visually no leaks, damages or spills of fuels and lubricants were found. A more detailed inspection with the help of diving operations has not yet been carried out due to weather conditions. The vessel's crew continued pumping water on their own.
Rescue ship arrived at grounding site
The 'Beringov Proliv', the Bering Strait rescue ship belonging to the Sakhalin branch of the Marine Rescue Service reached the 'KC Hadong' in the morning of April 24. A dive inspection was scheduled for checking the hull of the ship for damage, weather permitting. No fuel leakages were reported to date.
SAR vessel en route to grounding site
One day after the grounding of the 'KC Hadong' while weighing anchor at the port of Shakhtersk on April 22, the SAR vessel 'Beringov Proliv' sailed from the port of Korsakov on April 23 to the port of Shakhtyorsk to refloat the ship. The 'Beringov Proliv' was expected to arrive in Shakhtyorsk on April 24. The crisis response center of the regional department of emergencies was notified in the morning of April 22. of the 20 crew members on board, nobody was injured. The crew consisted of South Korean and Philippine nationals. No oil spill is observed.
