Medevac in Bermuda
The ''Atlantic Condor', en route from Vancouver to St. Johns, turned to Bermuda on Oct 16, 2023, to get medical assistance for a crew member. In the afternoon, the RCC Bermuda was contacted by Meyer Shipping and told that the ship had diverted to the island after a Canadian crew member suffered abdominal pains. On Oct 17 at around 7.30 a.m. the vessel arrived offshore, and the patient was safely transferred from the ship ashore to Ordnance Island by the pilot/rescue boat 'St David' and subsequently transported by an ambulance to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The vessel remained offshore, and the crew member was able to return to the ship on Oct 17 at 4 p.m. after receiving treatment. The ship has since continued on its scheduled vyoage with an ETA at the port of destination as of Oct 21.
