28 migrants rescued in two missions
On June 10, 2021, the CROSS Gris-Nez was notified by a boat of migrants reporting difficulties off Dunkirk and deployed the PCG 'Aramis' to assist. The patrol boat recovered the 21 castaways, including two children. A number of migrants appeared to be hypothermic. The CROSS initiated a conference call with the SAMU in Le Havre, and medical care at the quay was recommended. The 'Aramis' then headed for the port of Dunkirk and disembarked the castaways around 9:30 a.m. They were taken care of by the border police and the mobile emergency and resuscitation service. The CROSS Gris-Nez was also informed that a second migrant boat was in difficulty off Calais. It dispatched the emergency tug 'Abeille Liberté' to assist. The tug recovered the seven castaways and their boat and took them back to the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer where they were taken care of by the border police.
Patrol boat rescued 12 migrants in two cases
On ep 22, 2020, around 2:30 a.m., the 'Aramis' of the maritime gendarmerie, while on patrol, located a kayak in difficulty three nautical miles northwest of Cap Blanc-Nez with 3 migrants on board. They were taken aboard the vessel and then dropped off at the port of Calais, where they were taken care of by the border police. AT 3.30 p.m., the 'Aramis' reported another boat in difficulty off Cape Gris-Nez with nine migrants aboard. They were taken aboard the vessel and then dropped off at the port of Boulogne-sur-mer where they were taken care of by the border police.
