Fire disables emergency tug
On April 8, 2018, a fire broke out in a switchboard on the "Strilborg" which was berthed in Sortland, disabling the emergency tug for the time being. The Norwegian Coast Guard has therefore made one of its vessels available for this purpose. The patrol boat "Harstad" (IMO-No.: 9312107), will be ready in tow-preparedness until the "Strilborg" is available again after repairs. It enterted the port of Sortland on Apr 9 at 11.10 a.m.
Supply ship ran aground
The "Strilborg" ran aground off Finnsnsesrenna between Harstad and Tromsø in the afternoon of March 1, 2016, around 2 p.m. while sailing in the southbound lane when taking the wrong markings. The ship, after having passed under the Gisund Bridge, headed onto the left side of the buoys and got stuck outside the fairway. The Coastguard vessel "Sortland" and the tug "Lupus" were dispatched in order to refloat the ship with the high tide at 5.30 p.m. The ship got off with own power around 5 p.m. and was then taken into Finnsnes for surveys.
