Wheelhouse gutted in fire

In the morning of Oct 22, 2015, the "Skårholm - R-77-K" (IMO: 8882935) caught fire in the port of Åkra at Karmøy. The crew of another ship remarked that smoke came out of the wheelhouse, but attempts of one crew member to tackle the fire with fire extinguisher from the dock failed due to too much smoke, and he had to jump back on the dock when the windows on the port side of the wheelhouse exploded. At 6.10 a.m. he called the fire department which was quickly on scene and started extinguishing the fire from the outside due to the high temperature. After about 20 minutes the firefighters controlled the blaze, but worked for several hours afterwards until it was ofinally ut. The wheelhouse was gutted, and there was major water and smoke damage.
