Cruise ship sold to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL)
Carnival Corporation and its luxury Seabourn brand have announced the sale of the 'Seabourn Odyssey' to the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), which currently operates a one-ship Japanese cruise line with the 'Nippon Maru'. Following the sale, Seabourn will continue to operate all published voyages through Au22, 2024, under a charter arrangement. The 'Seabourn Odyssey' will be delivered to MOL after the charter agreement.
Seabourn upgrades entertainment experience on Seabourn Odyssey
Seabourn has developed several new exclusive evening entertainment experiences for guests sailing onboard Seabourn Odyssey from December 2018 onwards. The cruise line has worked with Belinda King Creative Productions to create four new shows exclusively for the vessel. They include That’s Life , which will feature big band music from renowned jazz singers; A Stroke of Genius , which uses music, song and dance to explore the meaning behind paintings by famous artists; Viva Italia , a journey through traditional and temporary Italian culture; and Latin Quarter , which showcases the dances and music of Latin America. Seabourn’s signature An Evening with Sir Tim Rice production has also been updated. Seabourn has also redesigned the stage and added new LED screens and theatrical lighting to Seabourn Odyssey’s Grand Salon to enhance the entertainment experience.
Medevac in Corfu
In the morning of Sep 5, 2018, a passenger, aged 70, fell ill aboard the "Seabourn Odyssey". The patient was disembarked and transferred to the General Clinic of Corfu "A.Mastoras" for medical examinations, while the cruise ship sailed to the port of Lefkada.
