One third of ferry has gone
About one third of the 'GNV Aries' has been cut up to date at the Aliaga scrapyard since the arrival in November 2024 under tow of the tug “MSC Dragon”, ending a career which started in May 1987 as the 'Norsea', serving for the the North Sea Ferries on the Hull-Rotterdam line. In Oct2002 it went into service with P&O Ferries and in Jan 2003 it was renamed “Pride of York". In Oct 2003 it was registered in the name of P&O North Sea Ferries Ltd. In April 2021 it was sold to the Cypriot company Pride Ferries Shipping Ltd. and in May it was registered in Italy with the new name “GNV Aries”, covering the Naples-Palermo route together with its twin “GNV Antares”.
