Fire in cargo hold quickly contained

Tue Nov 04 11:02:56 CET 2014 Timsen

In the morning of Nov 3, 2014, a fire broke out in the cargo hold 3 of the "Lady Francise" which was docked in Algiers. It was quickly extinguished, and a team of experts of Epal was working to determine the cause of the fire. The ship was carrying a cargo of bananas and had entered the port of Algiers on Oct 31. Cargo discharge had started on Nov 3, when smoke and fire began to emerge at 9 a.m. A tiny amount of cartons was engulfed in flames.
