Kamala blaze not yet under control

Mon Jul 13 09:31:43 CEST 2015 Timsen

The "Kamala" was still on fire on July 12 and sailing towards Busan. A patrol boat of the Korean Coastguard was engaged in fighting the fire with water cannons. Salvage teams could not yet board the ship because of adverse weather. The "Kamala" was close to Jeju (Chedju do) island. The fire raging in 30 deck containers in the fore part was said to be restricted with no or minimal risk of spreading further. The crew on board was evacuated in good health and transported to the shore. Report with video: http://gcaptain.com/containership-kamala-on-fire-off-japan/#.VaP0i5UVjIW
