Ship under repair at Seville after fire

Sat Jan 13 18:08:03 CET 2018 Timsen

The Astilleros del Guadalquivir was chosen to repair the "Amber" the cargo of which had caught fire in Dec 31, 2017, in the Port of Seville due to a fermentation process. On Jan 13 the ship shifted to the Armament Dock so that repairs could be started which were expected to be completed on Jan 16. In addition to repairing the affected part of the cargo hold, the workers will clean and paint it. The ship had transported fermented beet product, and due to humidity, a spontaneous combustion had occurred.
